What is the North Hills West Neighborhood Council?

One of the top priorities for the City of LA’s Neighborhood Councils mission is to get YOU, the stakeholders, involved in what the City of LA is doing right here in our neighborhood.  As such, we’re working hard on some new things for the stakeholders of North Hills West including a state of the art website with RSS feeds, Twitter, and real time updates.  We’ll also feature an element where you can chime in on what’s on your mind, watch the meetings you might miss online, and let us know what you think about the City of LA’s Department of Neighborhood Empowerment in action.   We need your participation and whatever we can do to encourage it  – we will!

You’ll be seeing a postcard hitting your mailbox soon with all the current contact information, how to spread the word, what we do for you and more, too!

Want your street paved, or that foreclosure next to you cleaned up?  Maybe the graffiti is taking over your way to work?  We host an Infrastructure Committee that has the ear of the people to take care of it!  But you need to let us know!

Want to find extra money for your community event?  Come talk to us!  The City of LA allocated $45,000 for the North Hills West area alone!

We’d be happy to consider any and all proposals in the framework of the NC’s funding.  Your Outreach Committee is dedicated to building awareness and rebuilding the image of North Hills.

Did you know that Food 4 Less is proposing building more gas pumps and staying open for 24 hours? Hearing details are attached for a hearing this Tuesday. We need your input!  What do you think? Do you want it?  Curious to know what happens up the hill (besides a great work out path) on Woodley at the Veterans Administration Building? Our Land Use Committee cares and has the inside scoop!

How about new cell phone towers popping up on your street corner?  Love it or hate it?  Mobile billboards blocking your drive?  The City of LA’s new bike path plan skirting NHW?  Does it matter?  Airport too loud?  Speed humps getting declined? Let us know!
