Greetings all,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new Devonshire Area Commanding Officer. I have been a member of the Los Angeles Police Department for 24 years and have worked a variety of assignments including uniformed patrol, training, vice enforcement and various investigative entities. I was appointed to the rank of Captain in December 2000 and served as the Commanding Officer at Foothill and North Hollywood Patrol Division, Vice Division and Force Investigation Division.
Devonshire Area will be having our annual Open House on Saturday, September 24, 2011, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. There will be lots of displays and we will be giving guided tours of our station. Please come join us. I look forward to my new assignment and hope to meet you at the event!

I’ve attended the last three Neighborhood Watch Meetings but if we don’t know one another, it’s hard to say if we’ve seen each other. Jean Herweg is the Crime and Safety Chair and you should contact her directly about her attendance at the meetings.
There is nothing behind closed doors and our meetings are all public. If you’d like to be more involved, and it sounds as if you would, please attend our meetings as we try to have them monthly. This site is always up to date. You’re also encouraged to apply for our board. It’s a big committment and we need the passionate volunteers such as yourself.

The meeting is being scheduled for one week later due to a conflict with the meeting location. More details about the date and time of the meeting should be announced later today.
Can you please tell me why you keep canceling the North Hills West NC meetings? There was no meeting in January and now none in February. What gives…the community needs to know what you are doing behind closed doors!!! At the Police Community meetings there are always lots of NHW people who want to know what is happening in our neighborhood and you are supposed to be our representatives and not one of you are there..Why? Please Advise.
I think you need to talk to the LAPD at Detective Phelps station (Devonshire? Mission?) about this, rather than the North Hills West Neighborhood Council.
I sent you a certified formal complaint on Detective Phelps and would like to know if you have received it yet? If so I would like to resolve this issue as soon as possible, and have my property returned to me. I look forward to hearing back from you on the departments decision. Thank you for your time.
